Nirmish has set different National Records in CARTOONING and his name has been entered eight times in "LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS".
Nirmish has a contribution range in diverse fields of serious and humorous literature, in both prose and poetry form. He has to credit more than 45 publication covering various forms of Songs, Gazal, Sonnet Satirical Poem, Literary Parody, Humour Novel, Drama (Farse), Cartoon, Caricatures and of course the "Vyangya Tazmeen" which is new self invented form of Satirical Poem. As a Writer-Poet he contributes in Gujarati , Hindi and English.
Nirmish, borned at Kalol (Gujarat), on March 18 (1960), is a Mechanical Engineer by profession, working with ONGC Ltd. He lost his father at the tender age of 16. Belonging to a very poor family, he started his career as a labourer in a godown at Ahmedabad
Nirmish is the only name of Gujarat, who got uniform glorious success as a Writer, Poet, Cartoonist and as a leading Columnist. He has got uniform popularity in MASSES And CLASSES.
Nirmish had lessions in Tabla playing under the able guidance of Shri. Sudhir Kumar Saxena, an exponent of "Ajarada Gharana".
Nirmish has exposure of performing in a Televised Serials "Wah Bhai Wah (ETV)", "Gammant Gulal (Durdarshan)" and "Taza Hasgulla (ZEE)". He is a regular contributor to Hasya Kavi Sammelans telecast on Television and Radio. His audio CD of Satirical Poems "Halla Gulla" has been released by "C & P Sarai Marketing Co. New Jercy, America".
As A Poet :Nirmish contributes in both serious and satirical poetry. Literary parody has become his speciality. His parody collection "Laghav Kyana Nathi" is being considered as the first Gujarati parody collections by Critics and Scholars.
As A Humorist: Nirmish has been acknowledged as a leading Humorist in Current generation of young literary figures with form success and foray in the forms of Satirical Poems, Humorous Articles–Novels and Cartoons simultaneously. He has been Awarded by "Gujarati Sahitya Parishad" with "Jyotindra Dave Hasya Paritoshik". Nirmish Thaker’s humour-criticism has its own flavour. He has written three Full Length Plays in Gujarati and Hindi and four Satirical Nobels. He has created a character "GANPAT SURTI" which is becoming very popular in Drams and Novels.
As A Cartoonist: Have many Cartoons and Caricatures in credit which have been published in leading National English / Hindi News papers, Magazines and also in Gujarati
With more than Twenty Cartoon Exhibitions (Including the Cartoon Exhibition held by Magazine ”CARTOON WATCH” at Nehru Center, London) to his credit. He has held his Cartoon Exhibitions in different cities like Mumbai, Patna (Bihar), Baroda, Gandhinagar, Delhi , Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Kolkatta etc. Many of them were inaugurated by internationally renowned Cartoonist R.K.Laxman , well known Film Stars Shatrughan Sinha,Faruque Sheikh ,Girish Karnad, Saint Morari Bapu and Tarak Mehta . Nirmish is the only Cartoonist, the trend setter of Gujarat with his English Cartoon Collection “Nirmishize Your Brain” and Five Caricature Collections in HINDI, ENGLISH, GUJARATI
His latest venture is to document “The History of Indian Cinema Through Caricature ”, This Unique project links Caricature of all important Indian Film Personalities from Silent Films to Motion Picture Era. This project includes personal interviews of film stars like Jaya Bachchan, Shatrughna Sinha, Dev Anand ,Hema Malini, Padmini Kolhapure, Shekhar Suman, Asha Bhonsale, Nausad, O.P Nayyar, Udit Narayan, Vishal Bharadwaj, Anu Malik, Kumar Shanu, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, Pran, Asarani, Shakti Kapoor, and so many others. A Documentary Film was made on Nirmish’s cartooning by Information and Broadcasting Department of Gujarat State.
As A Columnist :Nirmish has been associated as a Columnist in all the leading vernacular News Papers of Gujarati at one time or other penning a judicious mix of Humorous Articles, Cartoons and Satirical Poem.
